Shaun Roach started Roach Home Improvement 20 years ago as a subcontractor working out of his home office and garage. During that time, he was working for general contractors and there were some instances where materials were not right for the job or they didn’t show up on time. The tipping point was when he was asked to cut corners to speed things up so he could get to another job that the general contractor was behind on. That is when Shaun kicked off a small advertising campaign to start working with homeowners directly to ensure that they got the right materials and a quality roofing job done right with the service they paid for.
The business took off and some additional help was needed. Shaun made the call to his uncle, and Terry Roach entered the picture. First in 2011 as a consulting partner, then full time in the summer of 2012. With quality workmanship and service, Roach Home Improvement was outgrowing home offices, so Shaun Roach bought and converted the building at 901 Capital Avenue on January 20, 2014 into the present office. With customer satisfaction, Roach Home Improvement was still growing. Roach Home Improvement bought an adjacent property and built a warehouse for more material and tool storage so the crews could be better prepared to stay on schedule.

- Yes. State of Michigan license # 2102203135, Workers Compensation and Liability through Frankenmuth Insurance.
- We have been in business for 20 years doing roof installations and many other home improvement projects.
- We do not recommend applying a new layer of shingles over the existing roof. At Roach we want to remove all existing roofing material to insure that the roof decking is adequate for the new roof application (No rotten wood or large gaps). Michigan code states no more than 2 layers of roofing materials plus total removal for the manufacturers warranty.
- At Roach Home Improvement, we are not always the lowest estimate because we are licensed & insured (this is your legal protection), along with standing behind our installations. If you have questions, we will address your concerns during and after the installation (No hit & run with us) Our experienced project managers and crew leaders will be with you from start to finish.
- No one answer to this because each home is different. An easy 1 story gable or hip roof house will be complete in 1 day. A 2 story multi slope roof with multiple layers of removal will be complete in 2 days.
